From the rock structure, the beauty of Varahi River falls down from 1493 ft height and the length of the entire waterfall is 1 meter nearly.  It is one of the biggest cascading falls of India. The beauty of waterfall makes the place a popular shooting spot for Bollywood and the South Indian movies. The thousand rock backdrop of the marvelous waterfalls is also very beautiful.

The Kunchikal falls come into the hydroelectric projects of Karnataka. Mani Dum and Hulikal underground station for power generation is also there and the power comes from the waterfalls.  There are few other similar tourist spots like Kemmangundi and Coorg which are counted among the beautiful hill stations. Agumbe Hill Station

A small village in Shimoga district, Karnataka. It attracts tourists for beautiful scenery, an ideal place for trekking. This place is known as ‘Hasiru Honnu’ or green gold. This place is also known as ‘Cherrapunji of South’. It receives the heaviest rainfall in the south. The place is covered with greens and only rainforest research center located in India. A marvelous hills of Karnataka, well known serial ‘Malgudi Days’, an R. K. Narayan’s novel was shot on this hills station only.

Jogi Gundi Falls

47 km away from Udupi, this waterfall is a must see. This is a small but beautiful waterfall near Kunchikal. This is coming down from the hill to a big pool. You can enjoy the natural beauty there with your loved ones for a couple of hours, it is popularly known as cave falls due to its natural surroundings. The natural beauty of the surroundings is really awesome and peaceful too. Buses and cabs are available to reach there from Udupi.

Nibhani Gudda

It is the trekking route to the mountain and the bare mountain has made the place truly beautiful.

Best Time to Visit

From July to September is the right time to visit the place. To enjoy the best view you can visit the place during the rainy season.

Where to stay

Hassan, Chikmagalur, Sringeri are the nearest places to stay there because you do not find any proper accommodation near the place. Small restaurants and food stations are there only.

How to reach

To need to reach Bengaluru first from any corner of India or outside. You will find some private buses also. The best option to reach there is the private cars or other vehicles and you can get that from your hotel or local car service companies. You can also take a car from Mangalore airport or can reach Udupi or Shimoga station by train.
